A freakin' blast today!!! Got to run the south and north track pretty much at 10/10ths and had so much fun. Got to run REAL hard against a ZO6 with the track manager at the helm (me in my RS6) and I have to tell you, in the words of Dave Press, "the big girl did alright!" I'm so used to my R32 now, but I was given an opportunity to throw it around with just the two of us out there and that car does a great job getting around the track. There were a couple of wet spots on the track as they were preparing it for us this weekend so I had a bit of an advantage there but no doubt that ZO6 is one fast car. Coming out of 10 on the south track, he would pull on me about 3-4 car lengths which is a position I've never been in with my RS6, but I'd manage to catch back up to him through the turns. I know, I know, how the hell can an RS6 catch a ZO6 in the turns? Well, cooler temps and a twitchy rear end sure helped. The RS6 stayed planted firmly. (Although I did manage one nice little 4 wheel drift going into and coming out of turn 3.
The real reason why I was there was because Janice (my wife), had a track day there for beginners. Since there were only 3 other drivers, they said I could jump on the track too, and I did! None of them raced together except for this one time that I did with the track manager.
The guy that owns the Corvette flipped me the keys and told me to rip it around the track.... but I declined. Common sense prevailed. New car, RWD, cool track, wet spots, nah I'll pass.
So, the north track was fun as always but an interesting "change" has surfaced over the winter between 6 and 7 on that straight. Buy me a beer Friday night and I'll tell you all about it so you can avoid it without too much damage to your car.
That new Eisenmann exhaust I put on the car is so loud at WOT, once warmed up, some of the spectators said they couldn't hear the ZO6 at all when we were coming down the front straight.
Fun day and a nice tune up for this weekend. The track is in real good shape. They have some new asphalt patches in various spots on the track but nothing that should alarm anyone or cause you to re-think any driving strategies. (Well, except for that north track issue, but we can cover that Friday!)

But how can it have this interior????????????

It was a one off project where they took a 1966 Mustang shell and dropped it onto a 2003 SVT Cobra. So, you retained the original exterior with an all new interior. The two guys that did this claim to have $250K soaked into the project. I'm not sure how that all breaks down, but it was one impressive machine.
(The building in the back of picture #1 is the new Tech Building going up.)
Some picture of Janice in her Nogaro S4........
