Not getting much help in off-topic. I decided to try the local folk.

What are you (not you Scott)looking for in a hotel, location, economy, luxury, nightlife?
Hotel Monaco has a good location and there are usually good deals to be had on the web - one of my customers always stays there when they come to Chicago.
If you want to be close to the nightclub scene, another very hip place is Sutton Place - just off Rush Street.

...floors 9 and 10 (non-smoking and smoking, respectively).
The room was nice, with a great view of the "gold coast", but the best part was the "Executive Lounge", which is available only to those staying on the proper floors. It had a GREAT enhanced Continental breakfast in the morning (breads, fresh fruit, cereal, yogurt, juices, coffee and ALL THE SMOKED SALMON AND CREAM CHEESE with bagels and capers you wanted! Yummm!). Also, this same room is set up in the evenings with great appetizers and OPEN BAR!!! I can't tell you how great it was to go up there, have some appetizers or desserts, and a nice drink of your choice each night.
Prolly worth checking out, depending on what you want to spend per night.
