The strongest impression I took away from my trip is that the scenery in Alaska is exactly as you see it on TV or in the movies. There are mountains everywhere you look, expanses of forest, gullies with rivers running through them, plains, etc. Words don't do the countryside justice, so I'll stop and just post the pictures ![Smile](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

The trip was an absolute blast. We went on a glacier cruise, a plane ride around Mt. McKinley, white water rafting (38F water is COOOOOLD), took an 11 hour bus ride 80 miles into Denali National Park and mingled with the locals at their watering holes. The sheer expenses of nature make you realize how sheltered we are living in cities, always near food, drink and medical care. I only saw a total of 4 Audis across seven days and 800 miles of driving. Although it rained almost every day, the storms were mild and short. Overall the weather cooperated throughout the trip with temperatures ranging from low 50s to high 60s. Best of all, the mosquito seasons was practically over so the gallon of bug spray I brought with me went untouched for the entire trip.
I'd highly encourage anyone interested in seeing pristine wilderness to take the time and go to Alaska (its "only" a 6.5 hour plane ride).
EDIT: Link to the full album and high-res pictures added. The "Lg" large pictures are 5 mega-pixels, low compression JPEGs and on average around 2MB each.

http://bostonaudi.nexus.net/alaska05/</a
