Replacement key
My friend lost both sets of keys to his Audi and he is unable to get into his car. Would it be possible for him to get a key from ebay and get the key cut at the dealership? And after getting the key cut, can he simply follow the program instruction provided by the seller and program the key or does he have to go to the dealership? Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Without a hardkey (meaning not a plastic key).....
We can't cut one from the VIN #. In a case like this we would order a new set from Germany. If the car has immobilizer then yes we would also need to do the programming.

Hey Russ, how much do you guys charge to do a key reprogramming?
I have two switchblade keys, one of which is my main key, the other (spare) never used. The other day I tried using the spare key, but it wouldn't start the car (remote portion works, immobilizer is stopping the engine- it's an '02 S8, btw). Anyway, I called McGrath and they said I just need to get the keys re-mated to the ECU. Since you guys come so highly recommended on the board, I thought I'd ask what it would cost to get this done. Thanks.

Last time I gave a price on anything the mod's deleted it and said I was advertising.
Given that, give Robyn a call at 630-388-1000 and have her give you a price on it. Let her know you're from here.
