Ran into a State Police today....I was nice, he was not. I passed a slow dumbass in the left lane and got a ticket for 88mph(in a 65) + improper lane usage. Because I went from the left lane to the right lane and back into the left...Bright and sunny, dry and clean out. I get to goto court in a month because of the improper lane usage, which was given to me because he was ****. So is there anyway to get out of this court date? I'm guessing no? If I plead not guilty, will the cop have to show up? ![Smile](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
BTW. Has anyone else had this or similar happen? What was the fine? couple hundred? I went to court for going 120 once and only got a $400 fine. That was at night and dangerous. This was an everyday pass!

if the cop shows up.
The speeding ticket sounds inline, but what a BS ticket for lane usage.
The law also says that the left lane is for passing and for slower traffic to keep right. Sounds like the yo-yo in the left lane was using improper lane usage as well.
Usually a judge sees some ticket like that (the lane usage) on top of a speeder and knows the cop was being a bit of a *****. If you are polite in court, you'll likely get that one dropped, IMO.

It was in Illinois. The first thing I though about was the person sitting in the left lane. Illinois say they are toughing up on people sitting in the left lane, but I guess I trumped that with a little boost...I've met some very nice cops before, but this guy was unhappy from the get go!

Sounds like a "date" not to miss..........felt lined hand-cuffs?
For your court appearance, motion for a continuance as long as you can. I don't give legal advice, but a "no show" increases with time.
