Ah! Love that! That's called a technicality, my friend!
I would definitely point that out to the judge via something like this:
You: "Officer, one what time and date did this offense occur?"
Officer: "Umm, let's see, July 25, 2005."
You: "Hmmm, this happened today?"
Officer: "That must be a typo. It actually happend on, well, I am not sure."
You: "So you are not sure when I was allegedly trespassing?"
Then I would say to the Judge, "Your honor, I most certainly was not riding my bike in the park at the time and date he mentions, as I am obviously standing here in front of you at this time."
The judge, if at all sensible, will drop the ticket, period.
Lastly, were you "trespassing" on public property? If not, who had you cited (private party)? And how did you effectively trespass on public property?
