The tree collapsed on the garage and the car in the open spot you see, but I think her car will be ok. I couldn't get into the garage last night as power was cut and I couldn't find the key to the door.
Also, there were live wires and the tree was on fire before the second wave of rain put it out. Fire I can deal with, high power wires, well,
I'd rather the car melt to pieces.

Soooo, power came back on this morning, I had to go to work and the alley was still blocked off so we'll see what comes of it this afternoon.

Default Heard many similar stories about Lincoln Park, Lakeview and Logan Square

Spoke with a couple last evening at the Four Seasons Lounge last evening. They and their children were staying in the hotel after a large tree fell through their house. They also said all the power lines were on ground in the backyard.

Happy to hear that reports of injuries are minimal.

One word of caution. Make sure a professional tree removal company is used to remove the fallen trees. Too many people attempt to remove a fallen tree with disastrous results! Trees can spring back once a limb is removed hurting the person with the chain saw or an assistant.

Default Yeah, I'll leave the tree removal to the professionals. Actually, Com Ed will have to do this one

as they are sitting on some high power lines running to the step down transformer.

Still watch out for the fallen lines in the interim.
