My car is nearing 70K and I now the importance of doing the timing belt, water pump, rollers, tensioners, etc... on this car at around these miles. My cousin is a VW Tech for Larry Roesch and highly recommends me getting my work done at Audi -vs- Independent shop for the simple fact that it would be easier for a dealership to replace any parts, including engine, that may be damaged due to erros caused by the dealership when doing the job. He says that if I have any issues I would be more secure...bad thing is that I stoppoed by Schaumburg Audi and they quoted me about $1500 for the job!!! That's pretty high...I would say it's almost double an independent shop such as Dubwerks, CPT, GRD, Renn-Art, etc... What would you guys do?????

That way you only pay labor at the dealership and there is no markup on parts.

I suggest just buying the stuff from whoever you decided to have install it. That why if something goes wrong, theyll replace it 0 cost to you.

making things right for you should they be DOA. While markup from a shop sucks, they have to make a living and also need a buffer for the occasional DOA product they ordered new. At least most stand-up shops do business this way.
