Well as many of you guys either know or don't know, the weekend of August 21st and 22nd is the annual Treffen Car Show for the Chicago Volkswagen Organization.
Last years event was limited to only one day and only had the car show going on, however this year there is 2 days of Automobile goodness going on, and the members of the CVO would like to extend an invitation to all Audi owners to come out the event and participate.
1st off on Saturday the 21st the CVO will be holding a special Autocross at Oakton Community College in Des Plaines. This autocross will have awards given out for each class, and be somewhat competative with a lot of people from around Midwest comming in and taking there cars around the track.
Later that afternoon for those that are not interested in autocrossing we are organizing a cruise up to Great Lakes Dragway for Import Wars, Import Wars is a bracket racing event that will begin at about 6pm, however we are leaving Oakton at about 1:00 to attend the open runs and pre qualifing where you get the chance to take as many runs as you can and try to get the best ET or just try to nail your bracket racing time down, IE 13 second class your goal is 13.001. This is going to be going on all day Saturday until about 11PM.
Then on Sunday is the largest VW watercooled show in the midwest. We had over 300+ cars last year, and it seems that every year the event gets bigger and badder. The car show is much much more laid back than any other that some of you may recognize and is participant judged, so it makes that whole thing much much more relaxed and seem like much more of a large GTG with awards and magazine coverage, rather than a hectic pressure filled car show like Waterfest.
During the 2 days we are also having a Midwest Club Competition, with each club nominating 3 cars for 3 seperate competitions to see which Volkswagen Audi Group Car Club has the top club in the Midwest.
These 3 competitions are:
1. Autocross (saturday morning)(Best Time wins)
2. Drag Racing (saturday night) (Lowest ET Wins)
3. Show Competition (Sunday) (voted on by entrants, highest score wins)
And wieghing those equally and adding will determine the top club in the midwest.
So if there are any ACCC club members that would like to participate we would encourage you to bring the best out to try and win the contest, there are clubs from Pittsburg, Ohio, St. Louis, Minnesota, Wisconson, and Kentucky already signed up, so the competition is getting fierce.
I hope that the 4 pages I wrote will explain what's up and hopefully get the Audi people exited about comming out to a Chicago tradition.
So thanks for reading, and I look forward to seeing some of you guys out for the event,

We do understand that there is a lot going on that time of year, but that was the date that we chose to plan our annual show, and if there are more important events out there, then by all means do what you feel would give you the most enjoyment.
However we have clubs and people comming in from all over the midwest and people from as far as new york and pennsylvania for the top VAG related car show in the midwest, we are just trying to make sure that everyone knows about it, and they are completely invited to come out and enjoy themselves in a group of fellow car enthusiasts.
We also have a number of sponsors that cater to both VW and Audi tuning comming so it may be a great way to talk to people like AWE, GRD, Eibach, and Dubwerks
