We didn't quite make a Thanksgiving completion target, but we're on the build-up side of the curve!

Never seen spring loaded ones before. But mKes sense.
I'm serious about having Doug advance the cam timing slightly if it's not too late. On a 3.2, by advancing the cam timing a bit, you gain low end and mid range gunt, which is perfect for street duty. It's a free mod since he already has to retime the cams anyway. Porsche has been all over the board on the timing even from year to year. I'll pull my specs from my old engine ('86) to recall what I'd set my timing at in the end. But it allowed the engine to pull well from 2000 - 5500.

...he could easily do it, but that if I was not pleased with the result (which, of course, I couldn't "sample" before the engine was re-installed in the car), the only options would be to live with it, or once again remove the engine to re-adjust the timing back.
I decided to leave it as it was since I had no issues with performance... and am no drag racer like you!
(I *think* those are the original oil tubes. The springs for sure were original.)
