I've received parking tickets and iPass tickets in the mail . . . but never any moving violation tix. Might be tough to fight if they have pics . . . then again . . . with a good traffic attorney . . .

i know you should be able to tell considering if its the 1st, 2nd or 3rd bulb...but you can't tell.
city yellows are very quick. and in no way do i think "blowing reds" is cool. never said that in my initial post.
nonetheless, we all have been through a red without intention of doing it. i'll pay it, but quite shocked it got captured via camera. btw, this was off of western ave.

just kidding!
just want people to know i (or the wife, only god knows) did not intentionally try to blow a red...
never knew these cameras existed on city lights, this surprised me. oh well, lesson learned.

Don't you ever watch the news? ;-)
From what I've heard it's a loosing battle if you try to fight these.

'auto-revenue generator' there's your out. Here's a thrill:
In most locations the cities subcontract to companies that install, maintain and issue the tickets for those systems. The city takes a cut of the 'action'. It has been national news that in a great number of locations, the outfit that runs the scam intentionally shortens the yellow to sting folks. Studies show the average driver has an inate feeling for the yellow to red timing and is trapped by the shortened interval. Studies also show that in intersections without the camera scam, fewer cars 'run the red' than in intersections with the system. Now why would that be??
