It may be the best forum software out there but IMO AW has now lost much of its "sense of community", and that was what made this forum THE BEST. This new format is slow, has less desirable features, and is cold and sterile. I still believe in the community, but it's not the same. Sad day.

I thought the original intention communicated by JET was to retain some of that threaded functionality that was so important to AW users. Regardless, I can understand how it was technically impossible to implement in vB given the constraints, but your last comment just has my head spinning. It might be 80% better than kawf in the areas that don't count, but kawf was 100% better in usability (yeah, that counts)! If IB doesn't see this, bookmark this post and give it to someone when they wonder why traffic and ad revenue dropped.

We certainly didn't upgrade the site because we had intentions to **** off some people.
It was upgraded because kawf hasn't been updated in 10years, and vbulletin is far and away the best forum software out there (I believe its utilized by about 70% of all forums in existence off the top of my head)
We know, money is still green, and ad clicks are ad clicks no matter who clicks 'em.

First, vB can't handle the number of posts previously handled by kawf.
Second, in your opinion.
If it isn't broke... don't fix it.

From an individual who has used kawf and vbulletin a lot, I have found kawf very limited in what it can do.

You found it limited in what, its ability to post emoticons? You're missing the forest for the trees. The point of any forum software is to facilitate discussion. This implementation couldn't facilitate a conversation with a guy who'd been cast away on a deserted island for a decade.
