Overall, Ocala was probably more fun. The karts are faster and the track is longer and more challenging.
However Extreme has its perks. The track is located indoors and there is plenty of ventilation and fans. There is a small arcade attached with meeting space and a snack bar (All A/C). They have a large billboard facing the track with the current lap times including best lap for each person. It was very useful to track my progress and find the best line.
You get on to the track by session blocks. I think they have 8 minutes, 15 minutes, and 30 minute block. Aside from the track time, there are multiple other charges they get you for: $1 for the credit card you use to add/debt track time, $8 for the racing license, and $2 for the head sock. By the time you are done, you have a hand full of crap and a wallet full of worthless cards. (think Supper Club, Robin). I paid about $30 for everything for an 8 minute session. Next time it is $18.50 for an 8 minute session and goes up from there depending on session length.
They really want you buy a membership for $50. This gives you 3 eight minute sessions (only 1 can be used on the day or purchase), the race license, the head sock, and the debt card. It also gives you discounts on track sessions. There were limitations when you could use the other 8 minute sessions included so I skipped the membership.
The track layout is decent, but not great. Too many uber tight turns. The track can support up to 14 karts at once and I think that would be crowded. I was on the track by myself this afternoon and I think 10 karts at a time would be perfect. The karts were not that fast, but they looked to be new and well kept. All of their equipment including helmets was also practically brand new and didnt stink of *****. The Ocala karts were far superior in the handling, accelerating, and braking department. Plus, I really liked how the "pit crew" at Ocala came running if there ever was a problem.
After your session is over, they give you a nice laser print out showing your progress and each individual lap time. Everything was automated and didn't have much room for the human error we encountered at Ocala.
I think it would be a fun venue to have a day of racing as a club. However, I think an all day event might get boring unless we come prepared with a race schedule and other activities to enjoy while waiting for the other racers to finish their sessions. I also think we should have some sort of prize for session winners or overall fastest lap time. The person I spoke with gave me the contact information for the person in charge of group sales. They said they offer steep discounts and are willing to work with us.
Sorry for such a short and quick review, but I need to go study. I'm willing to lead up the organizational effort if there is an interest in having a club activity here. Let me know what ya'll think.

Ocala is cool, maybe they have got better since I was there last, but I remember their carts being slow to accelerate and kind of dated. I was in one car that wouldn't turn left to save its life, but it would make a hell of right hander.
I just enjoy racing and the competition, so wherever you want to go (Ft Lauderdale or Ocala) I'll do my best to show up.
I think my best time at the indoor track, when I went a few weeks ago, was low 28 or high 27 seconds
Not too bad seeing I weight 190lbs.
