Default My friends use it as a fence around their back yard and it is great. Really stops any external noise

and makes the back yard seem a jungle oasis.

Default Speed cost money. How fast do you want to go?

Depends- is it mostly open or is it heavily landscaped?

It's also dependent on which mower you go with. A 60" Dixie Chopper or other fast mower will knock it out a lot quicker than a Walker (made more for residential).

Gravely also makes some big and fast mowers. Just don't get the one that has the "bull horns" steering. The seat is way on the back of the machine and every time you turn it tries to throw you off.<<--- they probably don't make that one anymore.

For that much open space, a 60" would be decent. I've cut up to 6 acres with a 36" but that was not an enjoyable experience.

I think Dixie quotes 6 acres/hour for their mide level machines. So it's really all a matter of how much you want to spend $$ vs. time on the mower.

And keep in mind my advice is based largely on my experience in the industry. I mowed as many as 10 yards a day for several years. I HATE mowing and want to get it done ASAP.

Default True...

The property is mostly open with a number of trees.

I'll take some measurements of my shed and start shopping.

Is there an established market for used mowers? I could always luck into something, but other than that...?
