I've had a B&M on my '01 S4 for about 8 months now. I seems to be looser now than when first installed. There is significant side-to-side play (3/4") when in gear and it makes a muffled creaking sound when I'm in first engaging the clutch.

Does this sound like a problem? Any B&M owners out there?

could swear that the shifter play has gotten worse over time, but people keep telling me its me. ive had the shifter for about 8 months. even when im in neutral, there is a lot of 'dead play'- like an area where the shifter doesnt spring back to the center like it should in neutral. i can tilt it left or right before the spring back area. when in gear, i can make small circles with my shifter. really bothers the crap out of me. also, i used to have trouble getting into second gear and reverse, but i adjusted the shifter and that made a HUGE difference. it took me about 10 minutes to adjust also. just follow the instructions on ToyGuy's website. if you find a solution to this slop, please let me know. im convinced its the S4s POS tranny. ive heard changing the linkage makes a big difference...

but I assume it was installer error ;-\ I am going to go back in there and do some adjusting from ToyGuy's website also.
