This news really pissed me off -- seemed to indicate that if the trend spreads, I would have to take my car back to Michigan for an oil change. Turns out that is not so.
I called The Collection, talked to Rick in service, who said the refusal to servce only applies to cars bought from a competing (local) dealer. Rick says they did it because they were getting too backed up in service & having trouble taking care of their own customers (i.e. folks who bought there). Also said it has the approval of an AOA VP whose name was something like Norm deFusco.

both AoA and the Collection indicated that it was "anyone" that didnt buy the car there. There may be underlying issues with the other dealer but as it stands now, they have excluded everyone. I did not buy mine at the other dealer here. I just moved here at the end of last year so i am not aware of the local issues completely.
I havent decided who to call to get my service done.
Thanks for the info though, it is greatly appreciated.

What they told you ("everyone") vs. me ("only from local competitors") obviously isn't the same. Did you ask them why they told you what they said? At least there's a logical explanation in what they told me; I don't see that in what they told you.
If I was you, I'd ask again, and if a satisfactory explanation isn't forthcoming, I would send a registered letter to Mr. de Fusco or whichever AOA VP you choose. (Did you know that the President of AOA doesn't work at AOA, but is actually in Germany? That's according to AOA HQ in Michigan.) I would write at the end that if he did not respond soon, I would send my complaint to the automotive press then contact an attorney.
I would send the letter registered because that supposedly requires it to be delivered, under penalty of law. When I sent earlier correspondence first class with a copy to my owner advocate, he never got it. He even admitted that sometimes people at AOA intercept his mail. Sometimes I wonder if the Third Reich is really over.

the person that I spoke to was not interested in conversing and simply denying my service request and made it seem as if it was just a general issue. You seem to have gotten specific info from someone who does something. I got the "call back" from the "VIP hotline" for making service appts.

I called 3 times trying to get an appt to their appt hotline and could only leave a message. Their "VIP concierge" whatever person called me back and denied scheduling a service.
