Default Drive by Wire almost causes a serious accident again!

I love my car but this computer hesitation has almost gotten me killed several times. Today it almost caused a no-**** serious accident. Pressed the accelerator and there was nothing there for 1-2 seconds, period. Can this be fixed with a VAG tool or some kind of chip mod? Is this limited to the A6?

I'm surprise Audi hasn't gotten the **** sued out of them over this. The car is clearly unsafe in certain circumstances. I'm pissed!

Default A4 has issues as well, probably all DBW Audis

You simply cannot slam the pedal to the floor in a DBW car, it won't do what you want it to. Going past 3/4 throttle in a situation where you want pedal to the metal acceleration will cause turtle like acceleration.

For those with tiptronics, the problem can be gear searching when in full auto mode, and sometimes it's coupled with the DBW computer throttling back to save emissions.

I think I remember readng something in the manual about how the DBW system works in relation to throttle, but I may be mistaken.

It's a crappy implementation of DBW, no doubt about that.

Default I've never had a problem. This would be caused by

different readings from the two potentionmeters...you may want to take this in the shop to have it looked at.

Have you ever done a throttle body alignment?

Default We've had a couple of people complain about the same thing in their VW's with DBW.

A definate hesitation when going to full throttle from a stand still. It's a conflict within the computer between your desire to GO RIGHT NOW and it's need to maintain emissions controls. I know it's a crappy excuse but that's what it boils down to. If your situation seems to be excessive then you may want to bring your car in and do wats called a "throttle adaptation" to see if your potentiometers are calibrated correctly.

Default Turn off your ESP!!!!!

You are probably turning into traffic from a dead stop, The wheel speed sensors are seeing a severe difference in speed due to the sharp turn and the Ecu then reduces torque for less wheel spin. This is normal condition although a bit anoying at times.

Default My pedal quit altogether once. After a long off throttle down hilll coast.

It wouldnt work at all. Turned car off and back on- no problem since. Somebody on the vortex posted that if the brake lights stay on for some reason, the throttle wont work.
