Default DBW is in 2000+ model year cars...

It means drive-by-wire and it means instead of a cable connecting the pedal to the throttle, its connected via a computer, and a computer controls the throttle, and in Audi's case, it can be pretty horrendous in the way it interprets your acceleration.

In a DBW tiptronic car, you won't see full throttle when putting the pedal on the floor. On a nDBW (non-DBW) you will.

Tiptronic cars read full t hrottle when you press the pedal to ~75% on DBW cars.

Default I was going to say the combo - turbo engine + auto tranny + plus heavy car = lag

My car is DBW and I haven't experienced any of those problems. Must be my superior MTM chip

Default I turned off ESP and it seems to have made a difference.

The scenario is always the same for me; pulling out into traffic from a dead stop or a slight roll with no throttle applied. The front wheels are generally turned as well. I will keep the ESP off for a couple of days to solidify the theory.

Thanks.

Default glad it helped, just get in the habit of turning it off...

when you jump into traffic then turn it back on later.
