Default Hey all you local gun carriers

What of the local shops carry HK, Sig, Glock, and Mossberg?

Going to purchase a Mossberg 590 and need to try out a few handguns before choosing.

What is the best range in the area? It seems like the East Orange one on Forsyth is the most frequented by a few of you guys.

I also need to take concealled weapons course and looking for a good course, not just one you can sleep through. Missy is also going to take it.

Default East Orange is good. Nice guys, decent prices.

EO also offers the CCW course for $40-50.

Check here for prices, too.

Default Another one you might look at is the Steyr. Really low bore axis and great grip angle.

The trapezoid sights rock!

Default I carry an Hk USP compact 9mm

I bought it used for $595.00 from Shoot Straight.
I'm not sure if it was the best deal, but so far the gun has paid for itself 20 times over. Ask Angel or Shane about that.
I also did my concealed class at Shoot Straight. They did just about everything for $50.00
Mexican Audi knows alot about this subject.
hit him up for some info.*EDIT* I just realized Shane already posted....Duhhh

There is only one HK to consider...The Mk23 Mod 0 with 230 g. Hollow Point.

Default When are we all going to shoot IDPA? My 1911 is getting dusty.

I guess I could bring my HK comp 9 and shoot Standard Service Pistol with Scott ;-)

That guy that used to live in my house went with me one time and it was a fun. He even got shot during one of the rounds!

Default MK23? Are you talking about the SOCOM? No way! That thing is a brick.

You need to be Andre the Giant to get a proper grip on the thing.

Personally, my favorite HK is the P7-M8. I saw a guy at a competition smoke everyone with that gun bone stock. The 2nd place guy had a Colt Gold Cup with about $500 worth of work done to it. He traded it in the next day.

Default Re: Hey all you local gun carriers

You should check out the 10mm weapons. 200 grain rounds, flatter shooting than the .45 and much more punch than a 9mm. Whatever weapon you choose, go to the range with different brands of ammo and see what functions best in the weapon. No miss feeds, no stove pipes, too big of a muzzle flash, etc. With a 10mm you do not have to shoot the maximum load to outperform a .45.
I shot in IPSC in England for years, until they took all the guns away! B*st**ds!
