Default How do I remove the rear deck on my B7?

I finally took the crappy tint off my car today, but I'm left with some glue down near the bottom center of the rear windshield in front of the brake light. At the same time, I noticed some bugs and miscellaneous crap down there that I'd like to clean out....

My question is, do I have to remove the rear deck to get to the bottom of the rear windshield? And if so, how exactly do I go about doing this?

If easier, I'd like to just somehow remove the brakelight housing and enter through there, unless it is attached to the rear deck...

I'm not the average auto mechanic, so I'll need detailed advice and instructions! Thanks in advance.....

I haven't done an A4, but if it's like an A6 or A8 you really don't want to.

Default Too late. Someone help me finish this.

I popped off the front like the other posts said (lost a clip into nomansland). The child belt tethers aren't connected to the rear deck, but the sub or something is bolted down, and I can't budge the deck...

There should be a few bolts underneath, through the trunk

Default alright, i'm not messin with this damn thing anymore..

but if anyone knows how to pop out the third brake light, let me know. every time i pull on something i feel like i'm going to break it.

i'd rather not pay a dealer $100+ just to remove it so i can get back there and clean.

Default Hahahaha, does it look like this?

To remove the rear deck in the B5 requires you to unbolt the upper shoulder belts, the three child restraint clips (the plastic covers pop off and there is a bolt for each), the center brake light cover (pull it toward you). I also remoced my C-pillar covers (not needed).

Default Damn, I'm not there yet :)

But, how did you remove the center brake light??? If I could do that, I'd be golden. But I feel like when I pull on it I'm gonna break the damn thing. I was trying to pop it out, and now that rubber grill in front of it is popped up. Huge PITA!

Default On the B5 it pulls off. Slide it straight back toward you...don't lift it up...

That is the key, if you try to lift it, it will break....on the B5 anyway.
