Default Ok...OEM CAT, High Flow Cat, or Test Pipe?

My cat is on it's way out and I am trying to figure out the best route to take with the options i have.

1. Replace with a used OEM CAT. Same performance, but not clogging anything.

2. Replace with a New OEM CAT (choke..cough)

3. Replace with a High Flow Cat. I'm planning on getting a new exhaust system by the end of the year, so would it be good to just go ahead and get it now? Do High Flow Cats bolt right on, or do they need to be welded in?

4. Test Pipe. Tom Said i might want to do this, but i dont know exactly what a Test pipe does.

Any assistance you guys can give me i'll greatly appreciate it.

ALSO: What are the Pros and Cons of each?

Default All a test pipe is a straight pipe

Check the A4 forum, is my recommendation.

Default I've done all three (not at the same time dummy).....

High flow cat = better flow, better power, usually no CEL and retains most of stock noise restrictions

Test pipe = Even better flow than the high flow cat, almost a guaranteed CEL and louder exhaust system.

I currently run no cat (I have a constant CEL) and like MIke said, a test pipe usually refers to a straight through section in place of the cat. If you're going to replace your exhaust system, I would wait to replace or remove the cat. There's no sens in wasting money just to find out the new exhaust system has to be altered before installed.

Default I'm putting together a GB for the 1.8T test pipe. Interest?

I have the pricing agreed with the vendor already... just need to advertise.

Default Send him link to this page. I dont have any recent pics all around..

These are within the last few months, though.

I can get the car to you if you want. It is in Orlando.

I think Jorge needs to look at the front right suspension, I thought it was rubbing because the previous rims (the blingy ones, not the SSRs) but I think it is anything over stock size tires (215s there now) and I might need him to raise the shock a few turns to clear.
