I am out of wax, so time to go out and buy some new stuff (maybe from detailerscomain.com) and make my blue Audi look new.
I know Shawn Head and Shane Flowers are pros at this, so give me some advice guys!

Wash with Dawn dish detergent to remove old wax etc. -> Clay bar -> swirl remover (to remove swirls)-> polish (enhance gloss) -> synthetic sealer (and top it with a carnuba if you're really ****.)
Or if you don't have an orbital buffer, you can clay bar and then glaze/seal or use some of the new high-end one step products that fill in scratches and seal at the same time.
I've used just about everything from Zaino to Klasse to Menzerna to Wolfgang to Pinnacle. Honestly, 99% of people with be happy with the results from a one-step product.
Heck I spent hours hand washing and removing swirls from my Jetta and Scott Saxton's 337 didn't have a single swirl and he used a machine car wash! He just glazed the paint once or twice a month with Wax Shop super glaze (available anywhere).

Had 2 black Mustangs used it on both of them. It took the swirls out and made the paint look wet. Used only old 100% cotton t-shirts, terry cloth collects more dust and can make little scratches. Also, I never used wax, only polish because of the buildup and "wax swirls". This came as a recommendation from a professional detailer. Water will still bead off.
Every couple of days I'd spray it with Meguiars Final Inspection and wipe it with a cheese cloth (cheaper than a California Duster), takes about 5 minutes to do the whole car. This took off all the dust. Don't do this after it gets rained on.

Slap some Zaino Bros on that and you'll be fine.
Next year I'm going to have the car fully buffed and polished before I put the next coat of zaino on.
I just have an orbital buffer so I really can't take the paint down that much. You really need a circular polisher to take the scratches out. I just don't trust myself with one of those...I'll let the pros do it..

I wouldn't let anyone near a modern clear coat with a circular unless I was 100% certain they knew what they were doing and used top grade products.
With the right pads, compounds and polishes, a PC7424 will do pretty much anything you need to do. I've seen fairly severe scratches taken out with a PC and the right pad/compound/pressure/speed combo.

A glaze just fills in the imperfections (much easier than actually correcting). I'm going to cut back on my swirl removing and start using more glaze. It's gotta be better for the paint.
Just don't use a cleaner wax or polish after glazing because it will just remove all the fillers.

But I polished at least once a month. Doing it that often made it easy, 1/2 hour for the whole car. Didn't need to do it a section at a time, just "wax on, wax off"
