Yea....gotta love that! That was the THIRD time that Benz flipped at that race!
They flipped 2 cars mildly during practice earlier in the week, and ASSURED the Lemans organizers that their cars were safe. Then WHEEEEEEEEEEE, the car goes up. Just think what would have happened if there was a grandstand right there!
Benz officially backed out of Lemans racing exactly 30 seconds after that accident.
I also have the video of the Porsche GT1 flipping at Petit Lemans in '98 if anyone wants a copy of it.

Best part is, that's two seperate instances.
Your stills are of a different CLK-GTR flip than the video. I thought I read that Mercedes pulled out from the LeMans after the second car flipped.

Also happened back in the 50's
In that incident, there were some grandstands and was the cause of MB pulling out of racing for quite some time due to the association with the loss of life.
