I've got a set of Kuhmo 711's on it right now that have been ok for the price. At 10k they are completely shot.
Discount Tire Direct has Nitto 455 extremes for $58 with a 40k warranty.
Any other cheap/decent tires for a car that gets driven 5k/yr?
(see sig for driving style and conditions)

Here's consumer reports take on Ultra-High-Performance tires -
Best all-season UHP tires overall:
Falken Ziex ZE-912
Nitto Neo Gen ZR
These were essentially tied, and both offered impressive wet and dry braking. While only fair in snow, they're far better than any summer tire. The Nitto is a relative bargain.
Best summer UHP tires overall:
Michelin Pilot Sport PS2
Pirelli P-Zero
Nearly tied overall, both provide stellar dry and wet grip and handling. The Michelin excels in hydroplane resistance; the Pirelli had an edge in handling.
Other good choices for summer tires:
Bridgestone Potenza RE 050
Michelin Pilot Exalto PE2
Continental ContiSportContact 3
Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3
All were very good to excellent at braking and handling. The Bridgestone was excellent in hydroplane resistance. The Michelin scored very well in tread life. Excessive noise for the BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW2 and average dry braking for the Dunlop SPSport Maxx eliminated those tires as Quick Picks.

For the Miata, I have bridgestones (RE750s i think), and they are good, but at $160ish per tire, I am not overly impressed. For the Miata I will never put on a set that costs more than $80 each in the future.
And on my 2003 A4, I was putting on some pretty pricey rubber, but this last time I just picked up some Dunlop 8000s that were on sale for $90 each...deal!

dry rot. Hence the reason I don't want to drop a lot of coin on tires. The Falkens you posted actually aren't that expensive. I may pick up a set of those.

With 3 cars and Breeze working out of the house, we are not putting many miles on any of the cars now. The rears on the A4 are just about bald, so it is time.

They weren't available in 195/50/15, but in 205/50 they were only $66 each. As long as they fit my 6" wide wheels without any funky sidewall effects I will be happy. If they don't fit/look right, I can swap them out for Toyo Proxes 4 in 195s for the same price.
Thanks for all of the suggestions
