Default Why are you trying to contact Sony for a Canon camcorder?

If you have a Sony camcorder that is recording in the AVCHD format, you can just burn the binary to data disk (regular DVD) and the Playstation3 will play it (PS3 v1.70+ firmware).

I don't think they sell the Blue-ray burners in the USA,yet. But that would be another way.

Default Because its a Sony recorder

And it's been suggested that the Sony doesn't have the correct codec to deal with the HDV format. And since I know a couple people with the same camera but different branded recorders and no issues, it would make sense to me to contact Sony first. I've also contacted Canon.

Default

I'd guess the problem/solution is with the Canon camcorder, not the Sony recorder
