Default Coolant warning light.

I just bought a 1990 90 series (not a quattro), and it's been great until recently when what i believe is the coolant level warning light began popping on and beeping at me. The engine temp gauge is not working, so I don't know what the temp really is, however I don't believe it is overheating because the car runs fine the whole time and when I check under the hood, the temp feels normal. I'm wondering if it is a problem with a sensor or something stupid like that. The warning light looks like a thermometer dipped in water waves. If anyone has any useful information on this matter I would greatly appreciate it.

Default Probably the sensor it's on the bottom of the reservoir.

The connector could be unplugged/corroded. Also check for low coolant level that's the real reason it goes off.

Default This is an old problem with these reservoirs. Happens when they go past 50k....

Even the damn new ones have this problem.
