Default NG Ignition / Distributor

Today my 90Q left me stranded. (Wouldn't hot-start). Local audi friend is telling me it is leaky fuel system, either the check valve or the injectors, most likely.

Well, i've been pricing the parts and there is no way i am going down the road of dumping all that money into CIS-E. This just furthers my resolve to move to an EFI setup, where you can buy reasonably priced injectors, pumps, and so on.

It would appear that the rpm and crank signals on the NG motor come from the mechanical distributor, via the 3pin plug. Does anyone know the pinout of this plug, and the signal format ?

It would seem possible to use a standard megasquirt+spark with the mechanical distributor assuming i can massage the rpm/crank signal out of the distributor somehow. I am so aggrivated that _every_ I5 ms conversion retains the stock ECU to do ignition and idle control. It's not like the ignition and ISV's on our cars are works of art that give no trouble. (ISV especially!). It'd be great to replace them with reliable cheap parts, and get real programmable control over all of it.

Thanks,
Matt

Default The signal comes from the middle pin, the other two are marked + -

With regards to MSnS, the ign side doesn't work with 5 cyl motors. I heard they are working on it though, and there may be a version out by now.
