Default in your '84 coupe???? which engine "WE" or "KX"? neither will produce power close to redline!

Swap in an "NF" with a cam and 4000q exhaust, you'll have power(about 145hp)up to 6000rpm.

If I were to do a swap, would that be recommended over a turbo motor?

Default Drops in, easier, cheaper but much less power....

With a turbo, you have to redesign all the intake plumbing/intercooler and swap all the fuel injection components and wiring harness for it!

Default So basically it's just a drop in, bolt in, plug in swap?

I'm interested because if it's that easy, I figure it wont have the lag of a turbo and maybe I could put some more time and money into building up a strong motor. What is their for cams, pistons and piston rods?

How do you feel about a eurospec 2.6?

Default not at all. It's a drop in, yank out wiring harness, jerry-rig CIS distributor somewhere.

Get creative with the intercooler and intercooler tubing. Etc.

It's the only way to go, but it requires a lot of work...

Default You got lost in the thread, he's talking about cam/exhaust swap. Not the turbo swap.

Default Re: What should the maximum rpms reached on a 10v motor?

as some attention has come to this thread i guess i'll use it and not start a new.
from what i hear you cannot upgrade to a 20v head too easily. what with timing belts bolting it up to the block. unless i am wrong.
i'm sorta going the other way, i want to get a stroker crankshaft from 034 motorsport, i'll provide the link. a little low end torque never hurt an audi.

Stroker Crankshaft, I5, 92.8mm Stroke
