Description:
It's snowing in the Northeast! Wouldn't you love to put the perfect wheel/tire combo on your Q5?
I had a 2017 Q5 Premium Plus that I loved, but I was fearful of potholes. My solution was to replace the stock 19" Q5 wheels and Goodyears with downsized 18x8" OEM wheels from a Q5 Premium and BFG KO2 All-Terrain tires for the winter months (AudiWorld forum story here). A few months ago, I traded my Q5 in on a new e-Tron, and decided to keep the KO2s and wheels for myself. I learned last weekend that the 18" wheels don't fit the e-Tron (my e-Tron has 21" wheels).
There is no damage at all to either these wheels or tires - all are in perfect condition!
Wheels: zero curb rash, scratches, nicks, dents, or bends. The KO2s did a great job of protecting them!
Tires: as you can see from the photos, these tires are barely broken in. I estimate they have about 10,000 miles on them, and these tires last forever, especially on a tame application like the Q5.
If you're not familiar with the BFG KO2 tire, they are the gold standard of all-terrain (on-road/off-road) tires. The sidewalls are armored, they can handle mud, snow, wet, dry - anything you throw at them. They are the standard tires on the Ford F-150 Raptor and Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. Are they overkill on a Q5? Maybe - but they make it look awesome and I can basically guarantee you will never worry about a pothole again.
I live in the Philadelphia suburbs. Each tire weighs 44 pounds, and I have no idea how much the wheel/tire combo weigh - but it is not feasible for me to box and ship them. So I am happy to deliver or meet within a 100 mile radius of Zip Code 19320. Hit me up with any questions - but you will love the way your Q5 handles bad weather (and looks!) with this setup!
