Default [VIR] ok, which 1 of you instructors have Data Acq setup that I can look at?

Planning out my projects for the off season...

Been'n a geeky engineer, I'm seriously considering Data Acq to be able to analyze my improvements (or lack of). Plus 4 other Miata track junkies co-worker/friends are interested too. Would like to get some experienced feedback & play'n w/ the units before the season ends.

Other projects that are also on the list:

- Racing Seats: Corbeau, Momo, Kirkey, Ultra Shield...etc. Need to test fit my buns in several. I think 16" fits me... Should used seats be considered? Sources? Advices?

- Hans device: Just get it I guess, no research required? After seats that is (which would give me proper shoulder harness angle)...

- 'accessories' to enhance recorded video info?
. Already have yellow tape on center of steering wheel to make input visible,
. Recall Andrew recommended a red brake light within FOV of video,
. thinking of hanging a ping-pong ball under RR mirror (a la fuzz dice style) to visually capture accelerations,
. wide angle clip-on center mirror? to improve rearward FOV to see if my screw ups were traffic attributed?

Any other suggestions?

Default Butt dyno > DAQ

I have a setup here that you mount on the floor and zero it out...it records all 3 axes (up two 2 g's) at 0.1s intervals for up to an hour at a time.
But it sure isn't going with me to the track. :P

Default Eric and I both have data acq, but i'm not instructing ;-)

come by if you want to check it out...

i run a stack system and i think eric is using traqmate...apparently we're in garage #1

i'd be happy to discuss any of that stuff with you...

one note though, i dont recommend hanging anything from your rearview mirror, it can block your view and be a distraction... ;-)

Find Rex Lantz in the paddock. I think he'll have the yellow SRF!
