Default Antisocial DIY day. Replaced my C32's intercooler pump Saturday.

The intercooler pumps (lower left in pic) are known to croak at about 50,000 miles. Symptoms are that the supercharger protects itself by disengaging when IAT exceeds a certain level. So you go from 350HP to about 150HP without warning.

MB forums have identified a twin Bosch pump that is used in the SVT Ford Lightning S/C truck. Wiring is a little different, and you need to swap some external bits; but it costs ($100)about 1/3 of what MB charges for the same thing. Gotta love the interweb.

Some C32 owners have adapted a higher-flow Johnson Marine pump. Maybe next time.

Why does it not surprise me that it's a Bosch product that went bad.

Default t/j: same here... did anti-social new spring installs....

on my track car. Impact driver (electric in my case) made the job of compressing coil-over springs SOOOooo much easier & faster than doing it manually! Now I need to get new alignments before VIR at end of March.

I forgot to take pics (otherwise I would have posted up a separate thread). :-(

Default Let's call it "non-social". Antisocial denotes deviant behavior...and frankly, I don't want to know

what type of deviant behavior you're engaging in with your car. <shudders at the thought>

I'm afraid that I'll get doused in motor oil!
