Default Yeah - don't get greedy. =P

Find out what others at your level have done re negotiation (and if possible, what they got). Unless you have another offer in your back pocket or a current job you like, don't be too aggressive. In the long term, potential for advancement will be more important than starting salary.

Congrats on the position, BTW - what is it?

Default Like any good negotiation, do your homework.

Know what others pay for a person with your credentials, at similar postions in the area.

There is a lot of information on the web, and books. Good luck, and congratulations.

Default but don't sell yourself short.

it's difficult if you're just starting out, but try to determine what you're worth.

Default thanks...I'd be an engineering consultant (B.S. MechE, M.S. Aero)

Its hard to find out what others at my level make. Id be happy with 3k more than what ive been offered.

hopefully another offer will come through soon and it will be higher, (but im not sure)

im just new to all this (been in school straight through) not sure how to handle it.
