Default Anyone ever try riding (mountain / road) bike from Falls Church to Reston?

Was thiknking of trying to ride my bike to work one day. WO&D is about 2-3 miles from my house and I can take it within 2-3 miles from work.
Any guess how long that would take me? By car it is about an 18-20 mile ride.

I am thinking about an hour or so.

Default I did Vienna to Reston a few times.

It wasn't all I had hoped it would be. I'd give myself an hour to be safe. The trail itself is fine but the beginning and ending where you have to contend with cars slows you down and increases your danger.

Then there's the thunderstorm that the forecasters somehow misjudged and you are now at work with only a bike and not even a rain jacket.

Default Leave the bikeriding to the trails and take mass transit. You pose a safety hazard to yourself and

to drivers. Be considerate. Until they build bike lanes, bikes and cars fighting for the same traffic lanes is a dangerous combination.

Default I've done Vienna to the toll road on the W&OD paved trail

10 mile round trip. Yeah, I'm outta shape. Pretty fun tho.
