Default Right now I am a web developer

I'm contracted out to the Army, we do mostly internal stuff using ASP.NET and SQL Server 2000 backend, with a little bit of Oracle on certain applications. Mostly Win2K servers and there are a few Unix boxes that we avoid like STD's.

I've been at my current job for a year and a half, I've been doing development for 4 years, and I'm over it. I either need to make disgusting amounts of money or get into a more people-oriented field. Recruiting may offer both, but I need to see what they put down on paper before I decide anything.

Default I could see you doing something like that, plus, it helps that you have technical experience.

I would love to do something like Recruiting or Human Resources...Are you concerned you might get a pay cut though?

Default Absolutely....they already warned me that there would be an initial paycut

Basically the game would be lower base salary, but I would be earning comission on each candidate I place successfully.

During the first 3 - 4 months I would have to really tighten my belt...basically have little or no life, but once I start placing candidates, the sky is the limit. Not sure how much sunshine they are blowing up my @ss, but they are saying doubling or tripling what I make now is attainable w/ hard work.

So we'll see, reality is, I think by the end of the year, if I had an average year this year I would break even w/ what I make now....Obviously, if this is my niche and the market keeps improving, then it could be better.
