Anyone have a recommendation for a Heating and Air specialist in NOVA?
My heat went out last Thursday and I haven't had a chance to deal with it yet. Space heater is working fine for now, but I need to actually figure out what the problem is. I don't think it's the thermostat but I'm praying it's not the heat pump....
Thanks in advance.

cold air...well, it's definitely not heat. Feels like ambient temperature air.
Unfortunately, ambient temperature is in the low 60s.
On the plus side, I do like cold weather.

When it rains, it pours. Every time.
The heat pump unit turns on outside. I can hear it. Internal fans seem to work as I can feel cool air blowing through the vents.
I'm kind of an idiot when it comes to home repairs. I've still never been in my attic and I've lived in my house for over 3.5 years.

If the leak wasn't sudden, it would have gradually increased run times...
Adam, does it kick on and off for about the same durations and at the same frequencies...or is it just on and stays on?
If you feel adventurous, you can pop off the t-stat and manually kick the system on...to verify/deny the t-stat is the problem. But if the fan and the ext. unit kick on, I don't think it's the problem.
When the compressor (outside) kicks on, does it sound like it is under load or just free-wheeling?
