Castrol Syntec or Mobil1 or Motul not good enough?

Default No, I'm a creature of habit, car's had Elf in it since vist to VAST.. do u think it's fine to put in

another brand? I've heard great things about Motul

thanks for any insight - the b5 s4 has made me more paranoid than i should be

Default That would be like getting your gas at the same station for the life of the car...

Plenty of good oils out there... with modern synthetics most are pretty much equal, especially the breakdown time. 5,000 miles on any of them is more than enough protection.

Default Which ever oil I get for free from the dealer...

It's been 5w-30 Castrol Syntec, then 5w-30 Motul VW505.01, now 5w-30 Castrol Syntec (OE BMW), and soon maybe Motul again :-)

I have a rigorous oil change regime... every 5k miles with 5 quarts plus a can of BG MOA... I have a bigger capacity oil system from adding an external oil cooler, so I put more in than a normal 1.8T.
