I'm thinking about tackling replacing my Head Gasket and Cam Seal gaskets. I've done a couple searches and found several DIY threads which cover both topics. I'm pretty comfortable working on my car and have all of the tools required to get the job done.

My question to you guys is have any of you tackled this job? Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I also need to confirm the source of the oil. I got an assessment a while back from a dealer that pointed me to these to oil sources.

Why are you replacing, leaking oil down the engine side?...hows the cyl compression?

But I'd 2nd Tony's thoughts, why do you want to replace the head gasket? Excessive oil loss? Low power? Obvious surface leaks? Coolant in the oil/oil in the coolant?

You sure you didn't mean valve cover gasket, not head gasket?

I definitely mixed up the head gasket and valve cover gasket. The dealership told me both would need to be replaced (valve cover gasket & cam seals). I'll try to get pictures of where the oil is leaking. All I know is that it's stinking up the car pretty bad with the smell of burnt oil so I'm either going to pay the stealership to fix it or do it myself.
