Non of them (interior & exterior).
Since I bought the car 8 months ago, I never saw them working. I took it to a shop and after checking the fuses (everything OK), they suggest me to replace the switch.. did that and it did not work either. Did anybody have a problem like that? what can I do before to take my car to the dealer?...
Please help me....
Oh! and YES, I did search before posting.
Oh! and I thought this was a "all electronics forum... but i guess somebody here can help

The side mirrors don't move using the internal swicht... that is why I changed it but it did not help. So I basically have non-operational mirrors... no movement / no dimming.
Max, maybe i can visit you on saturday...

In daylight, get your wallet, or some other really dark object and put it in front of sensor which is on the back side of your inside rearview mirror. The sensor is looking out the windshield just like you do. The inside mirror should turn a dark blue and the two outside mirrors should turn a dark green. You can literally see the three of them dimming as you stop all light from coming in to that front sensor.
The rear sensor will still see all the daylight, the front will be black, and the mirrors will be fully dimmed in about ten seconds. Once you remove whatever object is blocking the sensor, you will see that they come back to normal.
If that is not it, then the fluid inside the mirror could have leaked out but that should not prevent your outside mirrors from dimming.

You listed your car as having sport and cold. Auto Dimming mirrors were part of the premium package...at least on the B6s they were. They weren't standard on the 2.8s.
From what I can see from this one picture, the inside mirror doesn't appear to be an auto-dimming mirror. The B5s had a little defeat button at the bottom of the mirror. The black frame around the mirror literally went around the button, so the bottom wasn't a straight line. The 02/03 B6s did away with the defeat button at the bottom, and the 04s and 05s brought the defeat button back.

The system works, I think, that the dash sensor sees the exterior light, and the mirror sensor (on the back of the rearview...looking rearward) detects headlights from other cars behind you...if both conditions are met, it dims the mirrors.
Of course, in the words of Dennis Miller, 'Of course that's just my opinion, I could be wrong.'

Because the mirrors are made by another company (Gentex or something like that), they are a contained unit. There should be a sensor at the top center of your mirror (for rearward light) and one on the back side of it for general lighting conditions.
