Car IQ application on Facebook is a fail....
E36 chassis didn't come out til 1992... and the "correct answer" is 1989.

Technically, the first E36s in Europe were built in 1990 as 1991 models.
1989 doesn't make sense, but they were built before 1992. '92 was the first year they were sold in the US.

Yes, 1992 was the first year the E36 was sold in the states...
but 1992 was the first year E36 coupes were produced in Europe... 1991 was a sedan only year :-) You got some catching up to do on Car IQ :-p

Good point about the coupe vs. sedan, but your original statement said that the E36 chassis didn't
come out until 1992.
