but he's no longer in the car sales business.
We are searching for a used SUV to replace our gas sucking HEMI Durango (~14 on the recommended 89). And, since our lease is up, it's time for it to go for something that can do what the current one does for less $ all around.
I think we're going to go with a 6/100k Certified '06 Saab 9-7X 4.2L I-6 since it gets better gas mileage, runs on 87, tows 5500 lbs, and plenty of rear cargo area for our 2-year old's stuff (and future 2nd kid). The one that we're looking at also has the rear DVD and running boards, as options. I would have never considered this SUV, but it handled really well -- much like the X5 -- and the price can't be beat for something that tows more than 3500. And, they're currently listing for $21,900 range for ~20k miles coming off of 2-year leases while they were in the $25-29k range a few months ago like many other SUVs like the MDX, RX330, X5 3.0, etc. that we looked at that are still in that range.
A quick look on KBB and the like say that trade-ins are in the $19s. I'm just curious if someone had access to Manheim (PA) where this car most likely came from and could tell me exactly what the dealer paid for it, or what they're paying for them right now.
TIA!

So, $17-18k wouldn't be low balling too bad, would it? I plan to just ask them what they have into it [since they probably paid for parts or the fee for Certifying it (right?)] and what they want to make on it, and go from there. If they don't want to deal, then there's another 2 on another lot (miles, 16k and 22k -- and both are listing for $21,990).
What's the deal with this Carfax? It appears that it was sold at auction after a lease turn in to another dealer, and then at auction again back to dealer #1 and there it was certified. Was it originally a demo?
It appears to be coming up on 30 days on their lot on the 22nd, and currently been on the market for about 60 days total.
Or, has this dealer (lehman) had it since 5/1?<ul><li><a href="http://www.carfax.com/cfm/ccc_DisplayHistoryRpt.cfm?partner=HMN_0&vin=5S 3ET13S362800623">http://www.carfax.com/cfm/ccc_DisplayHistoryRpt.cfm?partner=HMN_0&vin=5S 3ET13S362800623</a</li></ul>

from Sunday...many electrical issues with an overcomplex dash setup, interior panels falling apart, poor dealer support, no third-party support, knowledge base, or real owner community to speak of. His warranty is done and dealer prices for service and parts really reinforce the fact that our B5s aren't really that bad at all...
I guess it just depends on how many miles you intend to put on it, how fast.
Is that the GM corporate I6 out of the Trailblazer, etc? Would make sense...

is the Bose radio and the battery, after the manufacturer's warranty part is up.
so, that's about 4 years and 73k miles from now.
yes, I-6 and I think it's in the Envoy too. same chassis.
