If you want a premium, legitimate 7 passenger SUV, you have to consider the GL. It was immensely cheaper than the equivalent Lexus and not too much more than an Infiniti or Escalade. The diesel option is really at no-cost since the gas engine options start at the GL450. I would have favored the Q7 but it really does not have a usable third row (tots only).
On the trip to/from Annapolis yesterday, the computer showed 24 MPG. Not bad for three tons. If only diesel fuel was closer to gasoline in price.
Wife doesn't know it, but I had the tow package included. (7,500 lb. towing capacity).

Hm...I have to consider it. I want a Q7 diesel but who knows when it will come to the US.
Glad you are happy with it! Now you can get yourself a trailer for the 944 and tow it too

The exterior look is OK. The rear is a bit boxy, but that's what makes it comfortable for 7 (and I can sit in the third row). The interior materials are impressive. Audi has raised the bar by using great materials.

I was fudging a bit. I was at Edgewater (South River). Took the family out on the boat.
I intended to run over to Annapolis, but the Chesapeake was incredibly choppy. Rather than beat up the family, we bailed and anchored close to home.
