The fleet is now 100% German. Picked up the GL320 CDI on Saturday.

Default Question: if your car "does not meet the emissions requirements of California, Connecticut, Maine...

... Massachusetts, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, or Vermont and is not available in these states" - does it mean you technically cannot drive there? Or it's only sales/registration limitation? Like the state tinting laws - if your tint is legal in NV but illegal in VA, technically I believe you can get a ticket in VA.

No limit on use, just registration. I think after a certain # of miles it can be sold there too.

Default The kids loved it for 10 or 15 minutes, then I started getting the puppy dog looks.

My boat's pretty good in the rough stuff (29' deep-V and heavy) but it wasn't worth the beating.

Default Congrats! I'm curious how your wife will adapt to the diesel.

I'm sure it's a lot quieter than the F-350. Hopefully, diesel at $4.80+/gal. won't drive you nuts, either.

Default Price aside, it really drives exactly like a gas vehicle. The only diesel sounds you hear...

... are with windows open, in a garage, when you first tip into the "gas" pedal. Just a little gravel, then nothing unusual. It's funny to see a tach that tops out at 4,500 (500 rpm higher than the Ford 351 Windsor in my first car). With a 7 speed automatic, it basically runs in the 2000-4000 RPM range.

It's got amazing grunt if you just want to run 0-30 MPH (which is most of daily driving).

Glad to hear it's quiet. It's unbelievable how noisy the heavy duty diesel pickups are!

At idle, you need to be a car geek to tell it's a diesel, and there's zero smoke or smell. Very cool
