Oh, yeah, I'm not saying it'll stop them if they really want it, they are just much less likely
to go after an oem unit that only works with this particular brand of cars and requires a code to activate.

true, but if you just take those small portable nav systems out of the car or...
don't leave the mount, etc in plain sight you probably wouldn't have this issue either...
just saying.
Hiding them isn't always a good thing either as my cousin has someone smash in her window because the guy saw her put it under the pass side seat from a distance... so taking it OUT of the car is probably the best move.
