Default I'm not saying its not fun and fast...

However there is a HUGE difference between a race school and the events that our local Audi region throws. Of course a lot of it is getting to drive your car fast. You just happen to learn a lot along the way.

Default It was a very relaxed PCA region that ran the event...

They probably did allow individuals to run lap timers however the event was not timed. Dave got a raw deal in that one.

Default I know. ;-) It was fun making fun of him until he started tracking, though.

Kinda like teasing someone about having Allroad suspension until they get c/os, etc. All in good fun.

Default I agree with you, just trying to be an amateur pshrink on why ppl don't attend.

We all know, all the reasons in the world wouldn't stop us from doing something *eventually* if we really wanted to do it. So, I'm just wondering about the REAL reasons why ppl won't go. I have this conversation with the VW crowd almost every week.
Wish I could have gone when it was raining. Would have been a great learning experience. Last year's VIR doesn't count, dried up too fast.

Default I think part of it is fear of crashing, part is fear of beating on the car, and part is the cost.

It's unfortunate that people don't see the benefits, though.
