Got a ticket in upstate NY will my insurance get hit with points in VA?

I haven't gotten a ticket in 10+ years and driving through nowhere NY I got pinched doing 87 in a 65.
I'm not sure if this is going to kill me on my rates here and it would be a pain to try to fight it.

...you can most likely get it reduced. 87 in a 65 is pretty serious and your insurance will take a hit.
OTOH NY only cares about the money so they'll probably drop it to a "no-points" violation and you pay the same fine.....

provided the two states in question do not have a reciprocity agreement in place. New York and Virginia do not have reciprocity. So pay the ticket and be done with it, it will not show up to a VA license.
