Wait...do you guys meet/race at the same place every time?
If so, it kinda sounds like you're asking for trouble. When I went to street races (not around here) it was in the same general area, but not the same place each time.

I dunno about the acceleration of your volvo...
But no amount of mods will probably make it a driveable 0-60 in under 3 seconds like most modern sport bikes. But walking bow-legged to get it in a bummer.
Ever see footage of the Ducatti 996 racing an F1 car around Monza for a demo? The 19,000 rpm and 900+ hp couldn't keep up over the lap, but then it could have been rigged. But anyways, any sport bike will smoke a car but we all know that.
I was making a har-har joke because my 12v certainly wasn't going to stand up to the E55. ;-D
