20 over or anything over 80 is reckless in VA. A cop and my lawyer both told me this.

Default My bad

I can't find the traffic citations listed anywhere...I swore my lawyer said 30. Oh well...the RD charge was dropped regardless of what he told me.

Default we are both wrong, its 6 points...

reckless doesnt invlove any particular speed above the limit..

A person is guilty of reckless driving if he drives a motor vehicle:

(1) In wanton or willful disregard for the safety of persons or property; or

(2) In a manner that indicates a wanton or willful disregard for the safety of persons or property.

(b) A person is guilty of negligent driving if he drives a motor vehicle in a careless or imprudent manner that endangers any property or the life or person of any individual.

Speeding in excess of the posted speed limit by 30 miles an hour or more 5 points

Reckless driving 6 points

more laws and info

Default NC is 80 or 15 over, Arkansas is just 15 over...

then there is Cali which is just 100 for reckless

although many states dont have a set number for reckless driving

Default Yes, and speeding vehicles lose the right of way at intersections

VA has lots of stupid laws on the books.

Default yes, i did read that as well...

but technically in most any state if you are speeding or otherwise breaking the law you loose right of way.

my older brother rear ended a woman who turned right out in front of him, now technically she was at fault (failure to yield to traffic in roadway) he was found at fault for excessive speed. this was in MD
