Default Amazing how well M3s hold their value. Every time I've considered one, the prices turned me off.

Supply and demand, I guess.

I think I saw that same one on Wednesday night. Was the For Sale sign taped to the left rear bumper?

Default 2nd...I bought at 2yrs ago. Smartest decision I ever made. Equity + good credit = opportunity

to do more stuff than drive a cool car. You'll get better insurance rates, better loan rates, and plus, it's a hell of a lot more impressive to own a place of your own rather than a car.

As J said, to each his own...but man, if you have enough to pay for 1/2 of a $30K car, you have a GREAT start on a downpayment. Why dump it into a depreciating asset? We all want the cool car...we wouldn't be here if we didn't.

But seriously, buy property if you have the means. Anything in this area is going to continue to appreciate...maybe not as quickly as it has over the past couple years, but it's not going down any time soon. Think long term value, not short-term "cool" points.

That's my $.02

Default I have an 02 CB/black coupe 55K miles for 30K, Fairfax VA

WOW, just singed up looking to buy an S4 Avant and decided to check out the Mid-A section. Was going to list my car tonight on craigslist/autotrader.com.

2002 Carbon black/black 6 speed all options except PDC and NAV. Cold weather package, power seats, harmon kardon sound, the works. 55K miles on it and in pristine condition, garaged and well cared for. Right now it has black OEM 19" ZCP wheels and Tein lowering springs, tinted windows and a kitamo rear CF diffuser. Wheels can be swapped for OEM 19's if you dont like the black wheels. tires have less than 2500 miles on them.

Runs like a champ. Title in hand.

Let me know if you are interested.

Drew

Default Look Jretal gave you good advice and I must add the other liabilities and "common sense".

Financially plan on this correctly.
What about insurance (especially if your under 21), repair cost and modding? You'll get trap in all these wasting your money away. Jretal makes a very good point. Once you have a property you get to itemized plus you get equity somehting you can borrow against and get something you REALLY won. It's your decision use it wisely. I hope I'm not ranting at you but assisting you in thinking about otherr liabilities that go along about owning a vehicle. If you have sat down and financially analyzed your budget and feel comfortable then go for it? Do you ahve a GF? Because this will affect her as well, it tlaks aboout caracter and decision making. Good Luck with whatever yoour go with. May the force be with you.
