just playing devil's advocate. Sometimes I wish I had people do that for me cuz it makes you think about stuff, that's all. Hell, if I had the chance to live with my folks for a bit to save up $$ I'd be all over it... but I wasn't ready to stay at home cuz my hometown is a lil too small/po-dunk for me right now (i.e. no place for a youngin' to have fun, but good place to raise a family).
Like I said before, your life, your decision... just trying to point out some thigns I've learned thus far (and had been shared with me from my friends, family, etc)... though I didn't have near the temptation you had to buy a new car... well I did, but common sense told me it'd be stupid to have a car payment and not be able to have the fun I have now... esp when I have a car I'm very happy with and is completely paid off.
With maintenance, it's still cheaper to keep this car than to have a new one w/ insurance, but that's cuz I do all the work myself and do some crazy amounts of shopping for parts to pinch every penny I can. A cheap car payment is $300/month for a decent car, so say $3600 a year. I haven't spent that much in the past 3 years I've been driving the car fulll time... then again, I've dropped almost that much this year alone on the 4000, but that's neither here nor there
