Just switched from the Conti's to Falken Ziex 512's...very impressed.

I had Falken St-115's on my B5 S4, and they were awesome compared to some of the higher priced, non-grippy and noisy tires I had tried.
I almost went that way again, but I really wanted an all season tire, based on the amount of driving I do and getting tired of putting on snow tires for the 3-5 days a year when they are actually needed here.
The tires are as gripy, if not more than the Conti's. More grip in the wet. The side walls seem to be stiffer, as turn in is quicker, and the car feels more nimble. The noise level went up a tad, but but they are still not loud.
The Conit's always felt...numb to me, with slushy steering.
Ride level feels the same though there is a bit more coming through on the big bumps. Again, I suspect a stiffer tire.
So, if you are looking for a great street tire for everyday driving, and all year performance (at a great price<$400) this could be your tire.
I'll be keeping track of tread life, tough they are rated good in that area.

Haven't mounted them yet though, but they have good reviews.
Someone on the B5 S4 forum did say he had them on his 200 and they weren't as good in snow as the reviews said...but anything is better than the slicks I have on there now!

and looks like ziex tread width je 7.7 compared to 8.1 inches you get with azenis...now when you multiply that by 4 you got lot less rubber on the road..
how many miles you got out of azenis?
I got bfg kdw on now..they grip like crazy but thay are loud!!!

They do run narrow, and I even went a bit wider with the 512's. 245/40/18. They are basically teh same size as the stocl 234/40/18 Contis.
